This is the only dance programme in Sweden with an emphasis on folk dance and dramatic art. Apart from traditional dancing techniques the students are offered advanced courses in folk dance adapted for stage performances. The training emphasises technical skills since technical perfection is a prerequisite for creative work and a professional career. Technique is included in the major subjects: folk dance, ballet, jazz and modern dance. Dramatic expression is achieved by studying various repertoires and styles, and working together with visiting choreographers.
