For those of you who have finished upper secondary school, the Falun Conservatory of Music offers supplementary training that will prepare you for college or professional life and that solely consists of music subjects.
You will have two individual lessons and one joint lesson a week on your principal instrument. This programme also includes orchestra, chamber music, choir, harmony, aural training, history of music, piano and voice training among other things. You will study 2 – 4 terms. There are 30 student places on this programme.

The school has many rehearsal rooms on the premises, which are open to all students between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. every day. There are also student facilities including a music library, a kitchen and a laundry room. For those of you who are under 20, lunch is free at the neighbouring Kristinegymnasiet. Accommodation can be arranged in a rented room, a flat or in a student room. We will gladly help you with the arrangements.

Applications must be submitted no later than April1. You will be called to an entrance examination during the spring and seek admission solely with this audition. The audition is performed before a jury and includes playing two pieces of your own choice on your principal instrument, an aural test and a simple sight-reading test. The Falun Conservatory of Music welcomes applicants from our neighbouring Nordic countries.
