• Is it possible to study additional subjects?

Is it possible to study more of the theoretical subjects included in the upper secondary school programmes?

The Falun Conservatory of Music offers a specially designed programme for classical music with national recruitment. This programme has been developed with the aim of optimising our students’ chances to gain admission to a music education at a Colleges of Music in Sweden or abroad. For that reason the core subjects of the upper secondary school have been reduced as much as possible within the framework of what is required for general eligibility to studies at post secondary or university level.

If a student wishes to read more subjects and courses than is included in our programme it is quite possible. The Falun Conservatory of Music cooperates with Falu Frigymnasium, which can supply all theoretical courses within the national programmes. This means that if someone wants to study for an exam on the natural sciences programme, there is no objection to that. Together with Falu Frigymnasium we make an individual schedule and the special demands of such a programme on the student’s capacity are emphasised and discussed with the student in question.
