Mats Widlund about the Falun Conservatory of Music:

The Falun Conservatory of Music plays an invaluable part in the Swedish music world. With its warm atmosphere and dedicated and skilful teaching staff, this school has for many years attracted young musicians from all over the country, who are considering devoting their lives to music. It has probably been the most important preparatory musical education prior to music college in Sweden.

As a guest lecturer I have had the opportunity to follow the superior piano training there. In my capacity as a teacher at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and previously at the College of Music in Gothenburg I have met many of the pianists from Falun.

Let us just hope that even more young Swedish pianists will learn about the school and apply for admission there.
