The Georgian String Quartet about the Falun Conservatory of Music:
On November 28, 2001 we were invited to work with music students at the Falun Conservatory of Music. After an introductory concert we held a four-hour seminar in the form of a master class. We were well looked after and met by enthusiastic students and teachers.
During the seminar, three string quartets and one string quintet played to us and then followed our instructions. Together we studied works of Jan Carlstedt, Dmitrij Sjostakovitj, Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert. The student groups were well prepared and the standard of their performances was high. We hope that we have been able to convey new impulses and knowledge to these students for the future.
The Falun Conservatory of Music was a positive surprise for us, and we understand that the school offers qualified training and a good basis for advanced studies. The headmaster and teachers expertly arranged our visit, primarily administered by the cellist Per Helders.
We recommend the Falun Conservatory of Music to all young students who wish a good and professional basic training and a basis for advanced studies in music. (This text was originally translated to Swedish by Stefan Lundqvist, manager.)
